We provide urine and blood testing for drug screens to test for all major illegal drugs and narcotics.
Drug screening includes:
- Blood, urine, hair, or saliva testing
- Steroid detection
- THC (marijuana)
- Benzodiazepines (like Xanax)
- Ticycle Antidepressants
What is a drug screening?
A basic test will involve collecting a urine sample for drug screening that will test for a number of drugs and chemicals. There are many tests available, depending on how many drugs need to be tested for. Up to 14-panel testing can be done. Other methods of testing include saliva testing, blood tests, and hair follicle tests, which offer quicker results and a longer history of drug use to test from. Hair testing is seen to be the most effective in identifying long-term use because residual chemicals can be left in the hair for up to 6 months or more.
When is drug screening conducted?
Most drug screens are done for routine purposes, such as in the case of getting a job or fulfilling a requirement of a criminal sentence or probation. Therefore, there is not a lot of need for emergency screens. Cases do exist, however. For example, if a patient is having a serious medical event and the source cannot be identified, a drug screen will be done to rapidly rule out side effects or withdrawal. Also, in the event of an emergency medical procedure, it may be necessary to screen for drugs before giving sedatives or anesthesia to a patient.
